This particular white wine is made 100% from the native Apulian Verdeca grape variety. It has a straw colour with a green light. The taste is intense, dry, subtle and with pleasant, strong flavour. The bouquet is like a typical fragrance of white rock flowers and candied fruit. Contains sulphites. Produced by Menhir Salento S.p.A. - Via Salvatore Negro snc - 73020, Bagnolo del Salento - Italy.
The producer
Founded on solid rock, able to tell the story, Cantine Menhir, a company founded by Gaetano and Vito Marangelli, in the heart of Salento, is immersed in the lush Salentine countryside and situated in the megalithic region rich with dolmens and menhirs. Among Salentinian courtyards and gardens, endless glistening olive groves, ancient farms and olive presses, stand these historical vineyards of the 1920’s and 30’s, teeming with tangled vines abound with savory grapes and enveloping fragrances. The founders of Menhir winery are committed to elevating the quality of wine produced in Puglia, while preserving local techniques and culture. Many of the vines in their terroirs are thirty-five years old, grown in the traditional alberello, or small tree (gobelet) style. The vines in their oldest vineyard are seventy years old, the youngest twenty years old. This wild and fertile land, incredibly mysterious in character, bridges the gap between the western Mediterranean and the East.
